The Challenge
A grueling, awe-inspiring traverse through the high altitude desert of Ladakh. We ride through three of the highest motorable passes in the world, sleeping under the Milky Way and waking to ice in our canteens.

The Route — Topography
Arrival & Acclimatization
Gear check and briefing. This is a walking expedition — the mountain sets the pace, not the machine.
Into the Valley
Following the Markha River past willow groves and mani walls into the Hemis National Park interior.
Beneath Kang Yatze
The 6,400m peak dominates the skyline. Nights get sharply colder as the valley narrows.
The High Plateau
A vast alpine meadow at the foot of the pass, grazed by yaks. Final acclimatization camp.
The Pass
A pre-dawn push over the trek's high point, then a long knee-jarring descent into Shang Sumdo.
Return
Eight days on foot, no engine between you and the terrain. A different kind of transformation than the road trips.
