A remote circumambulation of the sacred Kinnaur Kailash range, through apple-orchard villages and alpine ridgelines.
Kinnaur Kailash Trek
The Challenge
A grueling, awe-inspiring traverse through the high altitude desert of Ladakh. We ride through three of the highest motorable passes in the world, sleeping under the Milky Way and waking to ice in our canteens.
This is not a vacation. This is a pilgrimage.
The Route — Topography
Last Indian Village
Arrival at the final settlement on the old Hindustan-Tibet trade road. Gear check and briefing.
Into the Baspa Valley
Pine forest and glacial river crossings, the sacred peak visible on clear stretches.
The Circumambulation Point
The trek's high point and namesake ridgeline — the closest a trail gets to the Kinnaur Kailash massif.
Descent to Pin Valley
A long drop back into apple-orchard country, the terrain softening with every hour.
Return
Hot food and a hot shower after a week on a ridgeline most travelers never see.
